Where are you located?
I operate in the Elephant & Castle, Kennington and Camberwell areas, 8 minutes' walk from Kennington station, and 13 minutes from Elephant & Castle station. Please see the Contact page for a map.
I am 8 minutes' walk from Kennington station (Northern line), and 13 minutes from Elephant & Castle (Northern/Bakerloo lines); there are dozens of buses; parking is by visitors' permit, so let me know if you need one.
How do I get there?
How do I book?
How do I pay?
Payment is by cash or cheque only on the day, or bank transfer in advance of the appointment; standing order is of course accepted if you have chosen to receive massages by standing order (see Prices)! If you are buying a gift voucher, payment may be made by bank transfer.
Do you offer discounts?
Yes - see Prices.
Do you do gift vouchers?
Yes, all options are available as gifts, and I can discuss any other requests with you, too. See Gift vouchers for more information on gift vouchers, and Prices for more information on massage options.
What are your hours of operation?
I operate flexible hours, so we can find a time to suit you.
If I need to cancel or rearrange, how do I do that?
Contact me and we'll find another time to suit, but please give me as much notice as you can. Please note, there is a 24 hour notice period: rearrangements or cancellations made within 24 hours of the appointment will incur the full cost of the treatment.
I find it difficult to receive touch - is it possible to tailor a massage that I will enjoy?
It is possible to tailor massage around people's physical or emotional sensitivities to touch, and massage can be extremely helpful with both. See further in Special Requirements, and talk to me about it.
I am ill, or have a medical condition or a disability - can I get a massage?
Massage is possible for most medical conditions and disabilities, and can be extremely beneficial (see Benefits of massage). Sometimes the massage needs to be adapted to take medical conditions and disabilities into account, which is something we would discuss (see Special requirements for more information). In a few instances, massage is contraindicated. Contact me to discuss it further.
If you have a cold or flu, or other acute or contagious infection, massage is contraindicated. Please contact me if you have an infection and we will rearrange your appointment.
What should I expect during my appointment?
At the start: For a first appointment, please allow an extra 15 minutes (included free) for a full consultation. This will ask about your health and lifestyle, as well as massage preferences, so we can tailor the very best massage for you on that day. Following appointments will start with a shorter update, which is included in the stated appointment period.
You will be offered a choice of music, or none.
After the consultation, the therapist will leave the room so you can get undressed down to your underwear (unless we have agreed otherwise), put a large towel over yourself, and lie on the massage couch. The therapist will knock before re-entering the room, and then place a second towel over you so that only your head remains uncovered. During treatment, you will be entirely covered by towels except for the part that the therapist is working on at the time (e.g. back, or left arm).
The therapist will check with you about level of pressure and comfort. Please do give feedback at any other time if you wish to.
At the end of your treatment, the therapist will leave the room, so you can get off the massage couch (the therapist will remain if assistance is required) and get dressed. She will knock before re-entering.
You will be offered some suggestions to take away about how to continue to address some of the things raised in the session.
How many clothes do I have to take off?
Usually clients get undressed down to their underwear, although you can keep more clothes on if you prefer. The therapist leaves the room while you change, and you are always covered by towels, so your therapist will only see the part she is massaging at the time. See previous question, "What should I expect?", for more details.
What services do you offer?
I offer holistic, deep tissue and pregnancy massages tailored to your specific requirements, as detailed on the "Treatments" pages. This includes any adaptations needed to accommodate or help improve medical conditions, disabilities, and sensitivities to touch (see special requirements). Please note, any approaches of a sexual nature will result in immediate termination of the appointment without refund, and referral to the police. Emma Grace is a fully trained, professional therapist: please show her the respect she will show you.
What are your qualifications?
I hold both ITEC and MTI qualifications in holistic, deep tissue, and pregnancy massage. These are accredited by the CNHC and CThA. I also hold an MSc in Psychology, which is accredited by the British Psychological Society.
Is there anything else I should know?
It improves the experience for both clients and therapist if clients can shower the morning before their appointment, or between exercising and their appointment.
If you arrive on time, your session will be longer than if you arrive late.
Wearing clothes that are easy to get in and out of can make your life easier!
I have another question that isn't covered here.
"Emma is welcoming and friendly and she and her facilities are spotlessly clean. She has good hands and excellent intuition about what needs to be done as well as responding to feedback. She is highly professional, taking notes before and after each consultation."
Kate, retired, culture and travel enthusiast.
